Hillside Chapel & Tremont Brethren In Christ
are part of the Brethren In Christ church:
The Brethren in Christ began in 1778 as a
result of a religious revival among
German Immigrants in southeastern Pennsylvania.
The Cross symbolizes our belief that Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
is the savior of humanity.
By His death and resurrection he made possible
the forgiveness of sins and a restored relationship with God.
The Dove symbolizes our belief in the work of God's Spirit
in a conversion experience. We emphasize the power that comes
into a person's life with the filling of the Holy Spirit.
The Towel and Basin symbolize our belief that
the highest expression of life in the Spirit
is loving service to others.
In the church, service is expressed in fellowship and
personal concern for one another.
In the world community,
our service is to share the good news of Jesus Christ,
to help alleviate human suffering, and
to live at peace with neighbors and all humankind.
